The Painting Hearts Project

Painting Hearts is a Sri Lanka based, not-for-profit arts initiative dedicated to nurturing artistic talent across its most critical stages of development. Our work aims to introduce children to art education, support art graduates with opportunities that allow them to focus on their craft without immediate financial pressure and help emerging artists gain visibility and professional guidance.

Every project we undertake is designed to strengthen the arts ecosystem while ensuring dignity, sustainability, and trust. Painting Hearts operates with a national focus and a long-term vision: to build a culture where art is valued, supported, and accessible.

The Problem.

Sri Lanka is rich in creative talent, yet access to structured arts education and sustainable artistic careers remains limited.

Many children lack exposure to art education that builds confidence and creative thinking.Newly graduated art students often face immediate financial pressures that force them away from their craft. Emerging artists struggle to gain visibility, income opportunities, and professional guidance.

Without intervention, artistic potential is frequently lost, not due to lack of talent, but lack of opportunity and support.

Our Circular Approach

Painting Hearts operates through a simple yet powerful circular model:<

Teach

Provide art and functional education to children.

Support

Create income opportunities for new graduates and emerging artists

Promote

Help artists build visibility and acceptance for their work.

Reinvest

Channel all proceeds back into education and training programmes.

Support the projects.

Painting Hearts is built on community. Every child encouraged and every artist supported begins with people who believe creativity matters.
